The lecture gives a general introduction to quantum technologies and the quantum physics concepts that underpin these new technologies. Quantum communications technologies are then discussed in a little more detail. Finally, the speaker gives a brief overview of the new EPSRC Quantum Communications Hub, led by the University of York and funded through the UK National Quantum Technologies Programme.

These particles can become tangled with each other to make braids! This is one way that people are working on to make a quantum computer.
